Share your input as City plans Gore Road active transportation upgrades
The City of Kingston is planning upgrades to Gore Road to improve safety and connections for people who walk, cycle, and roll.
The project focuses on the section of Gore Road between Highway 15 and the Greenwood Park Trail and will strengthen links between Greenwood Park, the Waaban Crossing, and the city’s wider active transportation network. Planned work includes a new multi-use pathway, improved pedestrian and cyclist crossings, upgraded lighting along the corridor, and roadway resurfacing and alignment improvements.
Design work continues through 2026, with construction expected to begin in late 2026. The overall pathway layout and road alignment have already been confirmed.
The City is now asking for feedback on rest areas along the multi-use pathway route. Final decisions will balance public input with technical requirements, including safety, accessibility, and operational needs.
The City of Kingston acknowledges that we are on the traditional homeland of the Anishinabek, Haudenosaunee, and the Huron-Wendat, and thanks these nations for their care and stewardship over this shared land.
