Wheels on the Runway Presented by Hartington Equipment
Family fun takes flight: ready, set roll! at the Wheels on the Runway event in support of United Way KFL&A. Now in its fourth year, in partnership with The United Way KFL&A, CFB Kingston, and sponsored by Hartington Equipment with AeroAdventure Partner NAV CANADA.
When and where?
On Saturday, September 20, 2025 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at YGK Airport, 1114 Len Birchall Way.
- Parking will be limited due to construction at the airport. Two complimentary Kingston Transit shuttles will run continuously between the Cataraqui Centre transit hub and Kingston Airport (YGK) from 9:45 a.m. to 2:15 p.m.
- Admission is by donation by cash or card, with 100% of all proceeds going directly to United Way KFL&A.
- Accessible parking will be free on-site for the duration of the event. Everyone else is asked to shuttle to the event.
Activities
Join us at YGK Airport for an exciting open house featuring military and emergency service vehicles, aircraft, parachute jumps, family activities, food vendors, and more, all in support of United Way KFL&A! Plus collect passport stamps at various stations for free admission to the PumpHouse Museum’s "Dinosaurs Among Us" exhibit.
Guests will be able to:
- CBSA will have exciting K9 demonstrations (10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., and 1:30 p.m.)
- Canadian Armed Forces Parachute Team, the SkyHawks will make a special airborne appearance at 12 p.m. (safe weather conditions permitting).
- Explore the inside and outside of YGK Airport
- Interact with vehicles from the City of Kingston, Hartington Equipment, and CFB Kingston, including aircraft, large farming equipment, snow plowing machines, fire trucks, and more
- Check out a selection of vehicles from CFB Kingston, including those used by members of the Air Force and Army
- Get snacks from one of our food vendors
- Learn more about United Way KFL&A and the impact your donations make in our community
- Visit various stations at the airport and get your “Wheels On The Runway” passport stamped
