Wheels on the Runway Presented by Hartington Equipment
Family fun takes flight: ready, set roll! at the 5th annual Wheels on the Runway event in support of United Way KFL&A. In partnership with United Way KFL&A, CFB Kingston, and sponsored by Hartington Equipment with Throttle & Takeoff Sponsor: Kingston Harley-Davidson and AeroAdventure Partner NAV CANADA, with support from Aanii Nichii Drones.

When and where?
On Saturday, Sept. 26, 2026 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at YGK Airport, 1040 Len Birchall Way.
Admission is by donation cash or card, with 100% of all proceeds going directly to United Way KFL&A. Please note that pets, with the exception of service animals, are not allowed on the runway.
Activities for all ages
Visitors of all ages will enjoy:
- Presenting sponsor Hartington Equipment will be on site with a selection of Kubota tractors.
- Enjoy a special airborne appearance by the Canadian Armed Forces Parachute Team, the SkyHawks (safe weather conditions permitting).
- Interact with vehicles from the City of Kingston, Hartington Equipment, Kingston Harley-Davidson and CFB Kingston, including aircraft, large farming equipment, snow plowing machines, fire trucks, and more.
- Have a chance to win a sightseeing tour over Kingston courtesy of Wheels on the Runway partner Cygnet Aviation.
- Take a ride on the CN Little Obie train.
- Visit various stations at the airport and get your Wheels On The Runway passport stamped for a free admission coupon PumpHouse Museum.
Getting there
Due to limited parking space at the airport, we strongly recommend alternative transportation methods.
There are only 150 parking spaces available that are first come, first served. The cost for onsite parking will be a minimum donation of $20.00 to the United Way KFL&A paid by debit or credit on site.
Biking
There will be free bike parking provided by Bike Valet Kingston north of the event entrance. Please note bicycles and scooters are not allowed on the runway.
Kingston Transit
There will be two free Kingston Transit shuttle routes to accommodate visitors from 9:45am to 2:15pm. Each shuttle bus will be clearly marked 'Wheels on the Runway' and Kingston Transit busses are accessible.
- One route will operate a continuous loop every 20 minutes between YGK Airport, Centre 70, Gardiners Centre, and Cataraqui Centre using Front Road, Days Road, and Gardiners Road. Visitors can hop on or off the shuttle at any stop along this route and Centre 70 can be used as a park and ride.
- The second shuttle route will operate on a continuous loop every 15 minutes between YGK Airport, Centre 70, and Jim Beattie Park using Front Road, Days Road, Henderson Blvd., and Bayridge Dr. Visitors can hop on or off the shuttle at any stop along this route and Jim Beattie Park and Centre 70 can be used as a park and ride.
