Rental requests

To make a rental request, you will need to provide your contact information, event details, insurance information and any additional information related to your request.

Insurance requirements

All rentals require insurance. We cannot confirm your booking until we receive your insurance certificate.
Submit a valid certificate of insurance at the time of your booking request, or within five (5) days of submitting it, to ensure we can begin processing your request.

Failing to provide the certificate on time will result in your request being automatically declined or delayed, and your preferred date may no longer be available.

It is your responsibility to ensure this requirement is met on time. We do not follow up on missing certificates.

Insurance certificate specifications

The insurance certificate must include the following information:

  • Minimum of $5 million in third-party liability coverage.
  • List "The Corporation of the City of Kingston" as 'Additionally Insured.'
  • List the City's address as 216 Ontario Street Kingston, ON K7L 2Z3.
  • A description of your event/use of space, including event date(s).

Parks and picnic areas

Many of our parks offer access to splash pads and playgrounds. Five parks have fully-fenced off-leash dog areas. These versatile spaces are available for rental, perfect for weddings, birthday parties, social or community events, concerts, movies, markets and more.

Request a waiver for your rental fees

Our Waiver of Fees Policy enables not-for-profit groups to utilize municipal facilities for events. In order to have the fees reduced or waived for your booking, you must submit a waiver application at least 90 days before the start of your bookings. You are only able to apply once per calendar year.

How to apply

  1. Review the City of Kingston's Waiver of Fees Policy to see if you qualify.
  2. Check each eligible and ineligible category carefully. If the committee approves, up to $2,500 in booking fees per calendar year can be waived. The total amount waived depends on available waiver funds and committee approval.
  3. After reading the policy and confirming your eligibility, fill out a booking request form. If we approve your rental request, we'll send you a contract with the total booking amount to include in your Waiver of Fees application.
  4. Submit your Waiver of Fees application.
