Robert Kiley was born and raised in Kingston. He grew up in Trillium District where he attended Truedell Public School and got involved in politics at an early age as head boy at Bayridge Secondary School.
He pursued student politics at Trent University, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Honours.
Kiley also lived in Trillium District as a young professional; while teaching high school (history and geography), working with seniors as the executive director of the Council on Aging, and completing his master's degree at Queen's University in public administration.
Kiley has served on many community boards and is committed to social economic, environmental and democratic health. His policy agenda promotes responsible, sustainable actions to help people, small businesses and the planet.
He is also well known in our community as a three-time provincial candidate -- and former deputy leader of -- the Green Party of Ontario. Kiley stepped down from all his partisan roles in 2018 before declaring his candidacy for municipal office.
In his spare time he loves to travel, hike, design houses, swim and spend time with his family and loved ones.
